Tips: Be Ready for Winter

Winter roads in the Rockies can be tough, but a little preparation goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to stay safe and ready for the winter season.

1. Use Winter Tires

Winter tires provide better grip on snowy and icy roads. Check for the snowflake symbol and keep your tire pressure in check, cold weather can cause it to drop.

2. Check Your Battery

Cold temperatures reduce battery power. Have it tested to ensure it’s fully charged and clean the terminals to avoid connection issues.

3. Top Up Fluids

Use winter windshield washer fluid and make sure your antifreeze levels are good. If needed, switch to a winter-grade oil.

4. Pack an Emergency Kit

Include warm clothes, snacks, a flashlight, jumper cables, and a small shovel. You never know when you’ll need it.

5. Get a Winter Check-Up
